Je dédie ce morceau à Quentin Castagnera, mort trop tôt le 16 décembre 2011.

De toutes les oeuvres d'Erik Satie, l'esquisse du "Poisson Rêveur" est sans doute celle dont la composition fut la plus laborieuse : le brouillon est un véritable grimoire, raturé, repris, modifié plusieurs fois dans sa structure.
Il y tenait pourtant beaucoup et il s'agissait bien d'une esquisse. De cela, son frère Conrad nous donna jadis l'attestation la moins équivoque.
Le Poisson Rêveur date de 1901, et il y apparait un modeste pittoresque insolite absent jusqu'alors dans les compositions d'Erik Satie. C'est une oeuvre charnière qui témoigne chez l'harmoniste et le compositeur d'une sorte de crise enrichissante,
et qui débouchera sur deux oeuvres légèrement postérieures : Jack in the Box et Geneviève de Brabant, qui en sont directement issues.

Of all the works of Erik Satie, the outline of the "Fish Dreamer" is probably the one whose composition was the most laborious: the draft is a real grimoire, erased, back, amended several times in its structure.
There was however a lot and it was indeed a sketch. In this, his brother Conrad gave us the certificate once the least ambiguous.
The Dreamy Fish in 1901, and there appears a small picturesque far away in the unusual compositions of Erik Satie. This is a key work in demonstrating the harmony and the composer of some kind of crisis rewarding
and result in two slightly later works: Jack in the Box and Genevieve de Brabant, who are directly derived.
